When Leila found The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1954, the missionaries answered all her questions. She wanted to be baptized, but her husband flew into a rage, daily attacking the Church and Leila as well. He burned her copy of The Book of Mormon in the cookstove, and threatened her life if she told their children anything about the Restored Gospel.

Leila waited eight long years before she was finally permitted to be baptized. Today, Leila’s testimony of Christ’s Restored Church burns brightly. “I want people to know that there is joy in living the Gospel,” she says.

What this wonderful Latter-day Saint has gone through for her Faith is a remarkable testimony that any price is worth the peace the Gospel brings.
