Man Up!
We love serving and sharing with the six Elders in our district. It is so encouraging to watch these boys become men, especially when compared with the weak, pathetic direction-less male species everywhere around us. At times I get so disgusted with my own gender. Talk about a bunch of sniveling cry-babies! They are so addicted to worldly lusts and pleasures, so afraid of any request to become something more than their mediocre self, they just want to live a life devoid of commitment and purpose.
To be a man is to stand for something. To have a vision and reason to live. To protect those who are weak, and fight for a noble cause. And more, to be a man is to live within a disciplined framework that shuns evil behaviors and makes one stretch. It requires making sacred covenants with God, to love and serve, sacrifice and even consecrate one’s life to the greatest purpose of mortal existence – that of building up the Kingdom of God on the earth.
And so, as we serve with these young men, we see the greatest miracle of the human experiment – watching boys change into real men right before our eyes, and then continuing to progress until they become sons of God in a man’s body…gods in embryo.
