While on a walk late the other night, I was considering what was going on inside each house. The following came into my mind.

This mortal experience is reduced to millions of little kingdoms where each person is surrounded with his own tiny environment. It is a little social pod consisting of only a few people – seldom more than twelve, but often only one or two. It is in this environment that a person lives out their life, going about their daily routine, building habits and collecting memories that will ultimately define them. Whether this pod is a home, a hut, or a cave makes little difference. It may be as large as a castle or as small as one room. But in it resides the little society that makes up their world.

It often amazes me how different each pod is. From one abode to the next, one might find heaven and hell as next door neighbors. The two can and do exist, traveling in parallel paths that lead in opposite directions.

It is up to each person to determine what his little kingdom will be, and what kind of destiny he is pursuing. The material things that he surrounds himself with, how he chooses to spend his time, and with whom, will make all the difference in his now and in his later.

Don’t think for a minute that who you are with or how you spend your time doesn’t matter. For it is of utmost importance. Examine your little world and who you are traveling with. For this is the pattern for your world to come, and these will be your associates for all eternity.
